Please note: This specific recipe cannot be made coconut-free due to the integral role these ingredients play.
- Turmeric Powder: The star ingredient! Powdered turmeric is convenient and effective. If you have fresh turmeric root on hand, you can certainly experiment with grating it finely for an even more vibrant flavor and potent boost.
- Ginger Powder: This spice adds a warm, spicy note that perfectly complements turmeric and offers its own digestive and anti-inflammatory benefits.
- Honey: A natural sweetener that helps balance the strong, earthy flavor of turmeric. Honey also contributes its own inherent antimicrobial properties. This ingredient can be omitted if you are following a strict Whole30 protocol.

Ingredients
- ½ cup coconut butter
- ¼ cup coconut oil
- 2 tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp ginger powder
- ⅛ tsp black pepper (omit for AIP)
- 2 tsp honey (omit for Whole30)
Instructions

Fill a medium sauce pot halfway with water and bring it to a low boil.

Place a stainless steel bowl over the pot to create a double boiler.

Spoon the coconut butter into the bowl and stir to allow it to melt completely. Avoid using a microwave to melt coconut butter, as it can easily burn.

Once the coconut butter is mostly melted, stir in the coconut oil until the entire mixture is smooth and liquid.

Carefully remove the bowl from the heat source.

Stir in the turmeric powder, ginger powder, black pepper, and honey (if using) until the mixture transforms into a bright, uniform orange/yellow color.

Place your chosen silicone molds (I recommend 2-3 of these, or any other fun mold you prefer) onto a flat plate or baking sheet to ensure they remain level during filling and chilling.

Using a spoon, carefully pour the liquid mixture into each mold cavity. Use a clean napkin or paper towel to gently wipe away any excess or overflow around the edges.

Transfer the plate with the filled molds to the refrigerator for 1-2 hours, or until the chewables are completely hardened and firm to the touch.

Once hardened, gently remove the chewables from their molds. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks, or in the freezer for longer preservation.
